Lithic sandstone
Lithogenous sedimentary rock
This medium-to-course sandstone consists of a mix of rock fragments and mineral grains including amphiboles, pyroxenes, feldspars, and quartz. The poorly sorted sandstone was derived from sediments eroded from coast mountain ranges with gabbroic basement rocks. This same came from the Big Sur area along the California Central Coast region. |
